MAMA VENA'S WATER HARVESTING
Mama Vena is an enthusiastic veggie gardener at our NOAH Khayelitsha Centre . She’s been providing mainly spinach, spring onion and celery to make soup for the community and to share with her neighbours. The cost of using Municipal water for her garden at home became too expensive and with summer approaching she knew this problem would only get worse. She had the great idea of harvesting rainwater! She found as many large containers as possible to collect the rain water and has now stored enough water for the hot summer months.
Congratulations Mama Vena for your hard work and determination to find a way to grow your veggies and help feed your community.
