IMPACT
CHANGE MADE SIMPLE
The uniqueness is in the integrated nature of the model, providing a full bouquet of services to facilitate active, healthy and independent living. NOAH is innovating new approaches to ageing and ensuring that those who have suffered most have an opportunity for self-discovery, healing, inclusion and participation in society.
An increased number of elders – 500 people (900 unique services) – are connected and contributing to their families and communities; who remain healthy and active for as long as possible; who have a sense of purpose, earn additional income, save; who remain in control of their lives for longer and therefore have an improved quality of life in their older age.
The order is restored: families respect the elder for their knowledge and wisdom, learn from their life experience, are protected, fed and schooled by their elder in a way that is not compromising, abusive or undignified.
NOAH has developed an innovative, appropriate and replicable model that meets the needs of a rapidly ageing, mostly poor population in a cost-effective way. Expansion will be through partnerships with organisations/communities that have a need to support their elders and develop thriving communities.
WHOLE COMMUNITIES
At NOAH, despite their limited income our elders have their basic needs met, have a sense of esteem and purpose, and contribute to their own families, the NOAH family and society as a whole. We believe that our elders are the tools to re-building ‘whole’ communities.
